I couldn't believe my ears this morning when I heard a report on CNN's American Morning that The Meow Mix Company is considering franchising Meow Mix Cafes around the world. There are not enough words to describe what a waste of time I think that would be for everyone involved, including the cats.

A marketer with a conscience...hmm. Sometimes I wonder whether there is any room for any sort of corporate ethics when the corporation's only loyalty is to the shareholder...which means everyone within the organization only has to justify decisions to the extent that they contribute to shareholder value (the "good of the company").

Saw the store earlier this week it boy was it cheesy. Not cheesy in a really cool, kitschy way, just cheap & cheesy. Product plastered everywhere. If this is something that they want to roll out, they’ll have LOTS of work to do to make it anything close to a compelling and engaging experience! I plan on trying to get over there next week and will let you know if it’s any better when it’s actually open!
